ABORTION

Many women consider abortion as an option because of personal or financial circumstances, a lack of support, or because they don’t feel ready to become a parent. Being informed about the procedures and risks can help you as you consider each option and work to make the best possible decision for yourself.

Our goal is to provide you with a place that is grounding so you can move beyond your initial fears

and concerns and make a choice based on what truly matters.

Medical Abortions

A medical abortion often referred to as the abortion pill, uses two different drugs to end a pregnancy. These medications must be prescribed by a doctor, never purchased online or from an unknown source. The first drug cuts the nutritional supply from the woman to her pregnancy, while the second drug induces contractions in order to expel the embryo. The expulsion process can take anywhere from a few hours to several days.

Surgical Abortions

A surgical abortion utilizes surgical instruments and a suction device to end a pregnancy. Surgical abortion procedures typically do not last more than 30 minutes. There are a few different surgical abortion procedures. The main difference between them is how far along you can be in order to obtain each procedure, which you can learn by having an ultrasound.

Abortions Risks

Medical and surgical abortions each have risks involved, including intense cramping, heavier bleeding than expected, nausea and vomiting, and though rare, potential long-term reproductive health damage like damage to the cervix or uterine wall. There are also emotional risks to having an abortion, which is just as real and can be just as damaging as the physical side effects.
